I purchased this powder to reload 30-06 cartridges with Hornady 308 cal., 150 grain SST bullets. I tried a few other powders like Aliant Reloader 16 and IMR 4064. The reloader 16 and the 4064 both worked well when they were hand measured. However, they were very inconsistent from a powder thrower. Big Game is a spherical ball powder. The balls are very fine and the weights for a powder thrower are extremely consistent. I picked a load which yielded a SD of 8 and a vertical dispersion of .5 inch at 100 yards. This was using my 50 year old Sears 30-06 hunting rifle. This powder meters like a dream and shoots consistent. Velocities were slightly higher then the other two powders as well as Ram Hunter. So far I have not seen velocity differences with temperature changes. So far I have been surprised by every Ramshot powder I have tried.
