The Sig P220 is where the modern SIG SAUER pistol story began. The.45 ACP P220 was introduced in 1976 and quickly became known as one of the “most accurate 45s right out of the box.” Since then, the P220 has amassed an enviable track record in hotspots all over the world. The P220 has a stainless steel slide machined from barstock and coated with a durable, wear-resistant Nitron finish, a light-weight alloy frame with an integral accessory rail, and the SIG SAUER four-point safety system, which includes a decocking lever, patented automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, and trigger bar disconnector.
The SIG Sauer P220 ELITE is one of three pistols in the SIG ELITE series. The ELITE series from Sig Sauer has a Beavertail Alloy Frame and a Nitron Coated Stainless Steel Slide with front cocking serrations. SIGLITE Night Sights, a one-piece Ergonomic Grip, and a short reset trigger are additional ELITE series exclusive features. The P220 is chambered in 45ACP and comes with two 8-round magazines.
